The renewed use of grape varieties now recognized as minor contributes to vineyard biodiversity and, consequently, to the wines produced. These grape varieties are already adapted to the subregions where they have been planted for many years, or, in some cases, where they originated through mutation or natural crossings. The scarcity of viticultural information on these grape varieties, many of them listed in legislation, has led to increased study in recent years.
